Come and join us for a concert of remembrance on Sunday 19th November in the beautiful St Aloysius Church, Glasgow, at 3pm.
Combining Gregorian chant with his own unique compositional style, Duruflé’s Requiem has proved to be one of the most popular and enduring choral works of the 20th century, and a fitting way to mark the season of remembrance. John Tavener’s Svyati, composed in 1995, is based on text used in the Eastern Orthodox Church during funeral services and combines solo cello with choir. Cecilia McDowall’s Night Flight was written to mark the centenary of Harriet Quimby’s pioneering achievement of being the first woman to fly across the English channel in 1912.
