As we reach the end of a year of celebrations marking the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, we present a concert combining music from Shakespeare’s time with settings of his words by more recent composers, including the bewitching Songs of Ariel by the Swiss composer Frank Martin, written in 1950. We are also delighted to include a new set of songs, When Time is Broke by Scottish composer Cecilia McDowall.
