DESCRIPTION:The Glasgow Chamber Choir returns to St Margaret’s with a programme of British Cathedral favourites – classics by Parry\, Stanford and Vaughan Williams balance more recent works by Walton and Jonathan Dove. The exhuberance of Parry’s setting of Milton’s “Blest Pair of Sirens” sits alongside Walton’s setting of W. H Auden’s poem “The Twelve”. DESCRIPTION:Following the successful exchanges in 2011 and 2014\, the St. Joris Kamerkoor and the Chamber Choir Glasgow are performing together again this spring with concerts in the Netherlands and Scotland. In March\, the Glasgow Chamber Choir will travel to Amersfoort and in May the St. Joris Kamerkoor to Glasgow. \nOn March 25\,  both choirs are performing at St. Joriskirk together for a concert with the Amersfoort Youth Orchestra.The programme will include: \nProgram: \n– Franz Liszt (1811-1886): \nfrom: oratorio “Christ”: Pater Noster (1871)\, a cappella \n– Charles Hubert Parry (1848-1918): \nBlest pair of Sirens (1887)\, choir and orchestra / organ \n– Maurice Ravel (1875-1937): \nRhapsodie Espagnole (1907)\, orchestra \n– Herbert Howells (1892-1983): \nTake him\, earth\, for cherishing (1963)\, a cappella \n– Johan Wagenaar (1862-1941): \nDavid & Saul (1906)\, orchestra \n– Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958): \nToward the Unknown Region (1906)\, choir and orchestra \nPlace and time: \nSt. Joris Church\, Court 1 in Amersfoort\, starting 20:00. \nAccess: \nAdults € 16.50; CJP and students € 11; youth t / m 18 years free.
